We talked with Karel Hanus, the CEO & Founder of the law firm Legal Systems, a Czech-based startup that has been making waves in the legal industry. Can you provide a brief overview of your organization's legal systems and the specific areas where identity verification is crucial?
We provide contract automation services for companies. A key component of our automation is the contract signing process and identity verification of the contract parties. ID check is essential when closing an important contract electronically. Furthermore, some of our clients in certain segments are legally obliged to carry out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks. This is why we have a robust and customizable AML process designed specifically for SMEs and attorneys, with ID verification being an integral part of it.
What were the main challenges or reasons that prompted your organization to consider implementing an identity verification solution?
We wanted to offer our clients sophisticated solutions for ID verification, but the technology was beyond our technical capabilities. Therefore, we had to seek out a reliable IDV partner.
How did you go about selecting Trustmatic as your identity verification solution provider? Did you have any other IDV vendor before Trustmatic?
We tried several solutions before we were able to specify our clients' needs. Prior to choosing Trustmatic, we explored options from other vendors, including Zignsec and Metamap.
Were there specific criteria or features that influenced your decision to choose Trustmatic over other options?
We opted for Trustmatic for several compelling reasons. Firstly, its robust public API ensures seamless integration into our existing systems, enhancing overall efficiency. Can you walk us through the implementation process of Trustmatic's identity verification solution within your legal systems? How long did the implementation take?
Our app is designed for 3rd party integrations in the verification process via API. The implementation was super easy, thanks to Trustmatic's comprehensive API documentation, and the Trustmatic team was very helpful. We also received an unlimited DEMO account, which is not a standard feature among other providers and proved to be very useful.
Were there any challenges or adjustments required during the integration phase?
Not really since we already tested several solutions.
How has the user experience been for both your internal users and any external parties involved in the identity verification process?
We have our own front end, so there haven't been many changes for our users.
Looking back at the implementation process, are there any lessons learned or insights you would like to share with other organizations considering a similar solution?
When on the lookout for the perfect service provider, the provider should offer a robust API, detailed documentation, a demo account, and a team that's quick to respond. These key elements ensure a seamless experience and set the stage for a successful partnership.
Looking ahead, what emerging trends and other technologies do you see shaping the future of legal firms?
The way firms draft their documents is undergoing a transformation. Currently, most firms still rely on traditional WORD templates stored on a shared cloud. This is a super ineffective way of managing company know-how and data. With AI technology, companies will find it increasingly easier to revolutionize their document workflows. AI already enables us to deliver document automation faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.
